About the ezDrive Streamline H
The Streamline H is ezDrive’s most compact stern thruster, built for wake and ski boats with crowded transoms: it stands 7 to 8 in tall and sits 16 in off the hull, tucked under the swim platform. It pushes 88 lb both ways on 12 V, enough to walk the stern into a slip or swing around for a fallen rider. ezDrive has sold it since 2018, and several wake-boat builders offer it from the factory.
ezDrive publishes no price; you ask for a quote, and it will send a free full-size mock-up to check the fit first. The kit holds the iBox, the rocker switch, the mounting hardware and a 225 A breaker that doubles as the shut-off. You add the battery cable, which must be at least 1/0 gauge, and ideally a battery of its own. See what else you buy.

It goes on through one 1.25 in hole in the transom, with no fiberglass work; the guide allows eight hours, and one Nautique G23 owner took about ten. The motor is sealed and needs no service. It runs up to ten minutes at a stretch, asking you to confirm after three. Warranty: two years once registered, for the first owner and only on the boat it was installed on.
Installing it yourself? The installer section has every spec, and the Yacht Thruster and ezDrive review sets this model against the rest of the ezDrive range.

Will the ezDrive Streamline H steer your boat?
46 FT TRAWLER · STERN · 15 KT WIND
Every knot figure here is wind speed, not boat speed or current.
On a 46 ft trawler the ezDrive Streamline H (88 lb) steers her in a 15 knot breeze. Her stern needs about 98 lb from an external unit on the transom to steer her in a 15 knot breeze. Its 88 lb lands within 15 percent of that figure, which this site counts as enough.
The finder leaves it off her list. We found no published price for ezDrive, and the finder lists only units it can price.

The ezDrive Streamline H against each kind of boat, in a 15 knot wind. Our sizing, from the finder’s own rules.
The first column is where one unit gives all the thrust the boat needs in 15 knots. The second is where the finder still lists it: the unit steers her in a 13 or 14 knot wind, within 15 percent of the 15 knot breeze this site sizes for. On a boat shorter than the first column’s shortest length, the unit is more than the boat needs.
How we size it
Our figure is the longest boat one unit can steer in a 15 knot wind. It is a range because each kind of boat catches the wind differently. Here a trawler gets full thrust to 44 ft, and an express cruiser to 57 ft.
The table tries the ezDrive Streamline H on each kind of boat, at every length that kind of boat is built in. The wind is 15 knots and the rules are the finder’s own. A length counts as a fit when the unit gives the thrust that boat needs where it mounts. ezDrive publishes no boat length, so thrust alone decides.
It is sized for four kinds of boat here. For your own boat, the finder gives an answer that also counts your drive and who does the installing. The compare page sets this unit beside others.
What it costs installed
No US dollar price is published for the ezDrive Streamline H, so we build no total for it. The yard’s share of the job is on the cost page.

For the install what the box leaves you to buy
The manual button above opens it on the maker's site. It has the hull, wiring and fuse figures for this model.
From ezDrive’s Streamline installation guide and the FAQ, 26 July 2022, read 30 September 2026.
- In the box
- The thruster, the iBox, the rocker control, mounting hardware, nozzles and tools, and a 225 A push-to-trip breaker, which also serves as the quick shut-off.
- Bought separately
- The 1/0 AWG battery cable, sealant, a 5 A in-line fuse for the joystick or throttle option.
- Charging
- It wires straight to a 12 V battery, and ezDrive suggests a Group 31 AGM of its own. The guide says nothing about a charger.
The manual’s words, page 2: “A dedicated AGM battery is recommended to power your ezDrive thruster, however, it is not required for every installation.”
A yard job adds these parts on top of the unit: $8 to $12 for the priced ones, at Fisheries Supply’s prices on 26 October 2026, plus the batteries, cable and charger. The cost page has what every maker says about each part.
Control-circuit fuse holder
Fisheries Supply lists it as “Waterproof in-line ATO/ATC fuse holder”.
ezDrive asks for a 5 A in-line fuse only with the joystick or throttle option; the rocker needs none.
Batteries
Fisheries Supply lists it as “Optima BlueTop SC31DM Group 31 AGM”.
One Group 31 AGM, the maker’s suggestion. The cheapest listing of that group and type.
Battery cable, red and black
Defender lists it as “Ancor tinned battery cable 1/0 AWG, cut to length, red or black”.
You need 10 ft of each color. For about 20 ft of cable in all, out and back. Measure your run and check it against the cable table in the manual: never go smaller than it asks for.
Cable lugs
Fisheries Supply lists it as “Tin-plated starter lugs, 1/0 AWG, bag of 10”.
The listing runs $23.74 to $28.04 by stud size. Eight ends on one run, with two spare.
Charger
Fisheries Supply lists it as “GEN5X2 on-board charger, 10 A, 2 banks”.
Or a DC-to-DC charger from the house system: ask the electrician.

Our note
The most compact of ezDrive's three mounts: 7 to 8 in tall and 16 in out from the hull, 37 lb in aluminum or 40 lb in stainless. A 12 V transom unit for wake and ski boats, through one 1.25 in threaded fitting in the transom. ezDrive rates it 88 lb at 12 V and 77 lb at 10 V, and it draws 245 A.
It runs up to ten minutes, with a confirm-to-continue at three and a quarter minutes. ezDrive does not say whether it can be installed afloat. No price is published. The maker quotes by email. A dedicated Group 31 AGM battery is recommended, not required.
